The map is what convinces you the thing works, so it costs nothing and never will. You only pay for the model time it takes to write a lesson — the one part with a real bill behind it.
About
A good outline is easy. Finishing is the hard part.
Any chat window can produce a decent plan for learning almost anything. What none of them do is the six weeks after the plan — the writing, the scheduling, the marking, the coming back. BiliMind is built entirely around that second part.
The plan was never the bottleneck.
People rarely fail to learn something because they couldn't find a good outline. They fail because the outline sat in a tab, nothing chased them, and by the time they came back they had lost the thread of where they were.
So BiliMind treats a course the way a workspace treats a project: something you keep open for months, that remembers where you were, that bends when life gets in the way, and that asks you questions back so you find out whether it stuck. The generating is the easy 10%. The rest is the product.
What we decided
Four decisions, and the rest follows.
It says when it is unsure
Generated lessons are usually right and occasionally confidently wrong. We say so plainly, point you at primary sources for anything that matters, and let you rewrite or hand-edit any lesson.
A course is an object
Not a good answer that scrolls out of a chat history. It has a schedule, a place you left off and progress that is still there next month — because that is the part that decides whether you finish.
It stays yours
BiliMind is AGPL-3.0 and runs on one machine with PHP, Node and SQLite. Read the source, run it yourself, or point it at your own model key. Cancel and everything already written stays readable.
Open source
Nothing here is a black box.
BiliMind is AGPL-3.0, top to bottom. If you would rather not trust a hosted service with what you're learning, run the whole thing yourself — it needs PHP, Node and SQLite, and nothing else. No queue server, no vector database, no infrastructure to stand up.
